Playa de los Charcos Beach in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote

North of Playa de Las Cucharas beach, in Costa Teguise, the, approximately 450 meter long, somewhat quieter and less frequented, bright sandy beach Playa de los Charcos is located.

There are sunbeds and parasols for rent. Visitors of Playa de los Charcos beach find showers, daily emptied bins. This beach is mantained by the local administration of Teguise and cleaned daily.

On this beach the wind is on average more windy then for example the Playa de Jablillo or Playa Bastian Beach, further South in Costa Teguise.
From the adjacent and spacious parking lot this beach is also easy accessible for people with disabilities.

An artificial wall of rocks ensures quiet sea, so this beach is well suited for families, which like to swimming or snorkeling, as well as for pedal boats, kayaks and paddle boards.

Playa de las Cucharas Beach

Playa de las Cucharas Beach in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote

Located south of Playa de los Charcos in Costa Teguise you will find the approximately 450 meter long, fine sandy Playa de Las Cucharas beach, which is also very popular with windsurfers.
At this guarded beach, you will find everything you can imagine on a modern tourist beach for relaxation, like sunbeds and parasols, showers and toilets.

At this beach is usualy windier then the other beaches like Playa Bastian in Costa Teguise, this beach section is, especially popular for and with wind- and kitesurfers. You can book, for instance, windsurf lessons at the local Windsurfing Club.
Of course swimming and snorkeling is possible here, aswell as lending a pedal boat or learn how to dive in the neighbouring diving school (E.g. Daivoon).
Various restaurants and bars, as well as supermarkets nearby ensure your physical well-being.

You can reach this beach, which is located in the middle of Costa Teguise, from different directions.
Normally, there are plenty of parking spaces nearby, as well as a taxi station, and a bus stop. The current bus schedule can be found here.

The Playa de las Cucharas beach is also easy to reach for people with disabilities.

Playa de Jablillo Beach

Playa de Jablillo Beach in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote

The Playa de Jablillo beach is roughly 500 m long and has bright and fine sand, located in the middle of the tourist resort of Costa Teguise, south of Playa de las Cucharas beach.
Downstream wave breakers ensure a particularly quiet sea, making this beach ideal for families with children, as well as for snorkelling, diving, paddleboard, and kayaking.

There are sun loungers and parasols to lend, toilets, showers and nearby restaurants and bars.

You will find a large car park right next to Playa de Jablillo beach. As this beach is very popular, especially in the main season, the car park may sometimes be a little small and the searc for a parking space may require some patience. This beach is also easy accessable for handicapped people.

The Playa de Jablillo beach is mantained, cleaned and the bins emptied, by the Ayuntamiento of the municipality of Teguise.

This easy accessable beach is ideal for families with children, as well as for snorkelling, diving, paddleboard, and kayaking.

Playa Honda Beach

Playa Honda Beach, Lanzarote

The Playa Honda beach stretches for about 700 m beside the beach promenade in Playa Honda between Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife next to the runway of the airport ACE.

You will find gold-colored sand in medium grain size, a mostly moderate breeze and usually only light waves, so this beach is also suitable for children. The beach is very special for swimming and snorkeling. There is enough space for all kinds of beach games and also a volleyball field is not missing. On windy days, wind- and kitesurfers are often seen, too.

On nice and sunny days, especially on the weekends, as Playa Honda beach is also easy to reach by bus and also for the handicapped, easy to reach it gets more lively.

There are toilets, showers, the bins are regularly emptied. There is a selection of restaurants in different price ranges, directly at the beach, as well as accommodations for individual tourists in the immediate vicinity.

The Playa Honda beach is managed and maintained by the municipality of San Bartolomé. You will find more than enough parking spaces on most of the days of the year.

The Playa Honda beach is very easy to get there and spend a relaxing time with all kind of amenities.

Playa de La Garita Beach

Playa de La Garita Beach in Arrieta, Lanzarote

On the outskirts of Arrieta, in the north-east of Lanzarote lies the Playa La Garita, a light-brown sand beach, about 800 meters long, mainly frequented by locals.
This beach is managed by the municipality of Haria. It is also easy to reach for people with disabilities, it offers public shower, toilets, daily emptied trash bins and children’s play ground equipment. On windy days you can also see some windsurfers here.

At the southern end of the beach, where there are larger areas with smaller and larger stones, people who are particularly interested and looking for quiet space find a place to listen to the relaxing sea noise.
In the neighborhood, at the south end of the beach, is also a football field located, which sometimes is used by local youths.

Directly above the lively part of Playa de la Garita beach towards the village you find the typical spanish beach bar Chiringuito and another restaurant.
In both restaurants you can enjoy your meal with a beautiful view of the sea. A small fitness course invites you to burn the calories of the delicious food.

The bus route from Arrecife to arrieta stops in about 400 meters.

The sea is usually very quiet, the entrance into the water flat and otherwise there is hardly any danger and therefore this beach is not guarded. For emergencies there is a first aid station directly next door.

Playa Flamingo Beach

Playa Flamingo Beach in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Well sheltered from wind and waves  by two long moles, to the west of the port of Playa Blanca, with view to Fuerteventura, lies the Playa Flamingo beach, which about 200 meters long and the perfect beach for families.

If you like to snorkel or dive, here you will see all kind of marine life, especially near the moles.

On Playa Flamingo Beach, beside sunbeds and Parasols, you can rent complete cosy beds which provide even more shwadow and may make you feel like in heaven.

Even smaller children can play and splash on the shallow sloping beach.

The beach is guarded, there are sun loungers, parasols, showers and directly on the palm-lined promenade usually enough parking spaces are available. In the vicinity various restaurants, bars and also a supermarket are found.

Playa Dorada Beach

Playa Dorada Beach in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

From the center of Playa Blancas, along the promenade, you can reach the 300-meter-long, golden yellow Playa Dorada beach aswell by walking in only a few minutes.

Families with children will find everything they could expect from a modern tourist beach.
Sun loungers and umbrellas, public showers, beach bars at both ends of the beach, restaurants, first aid station, as well as various water sports, such as pedal boat and banana boating.
The wind-sheltered Playa Dorada beach is particularly suitable for small children due to its small waves and is also used as a main beach of several larger hotels.

In high season, parking spaces can get rare.

Playa Chica Beach

Playa Chica Beach in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote

Playa Chica Beach is a very calm and therefore a perfect beach for families and divers.

The Playa Chica beach is located very centrally in the former fishing village Puerto del Carmen. In high season it might not be very easy to find a parking space at the nearby car park, but  you can park your car just around the corner in any of the streets nearby..

The beach is only about 100 meters long and with about 20 meters of width, located in a small cove.

It consists mainly of sand, only here and there are some stones to be seen. Since the bay is protected by large rocks, the sea is very quiet all year round, which is why the beach is particularly popular with families, but also with the elderly people. The water, as well as the beach are very clean.

Especially divers appreciate the underwater landscape of this beach, which the volcanic lava flows have developed over the centuries, which is aswell one of the most spectacular in Europe.
The diving school “Safari Diving” offers diving courses for beginners and advanced.
But also the snorkeling is the inhabitants of the sea face. Above the water surface, there is also an extensive range of water sports: thanks to “Paracraft” banana boat, Jet Ski or Crazy Ufo can be practiced.

Puerto del Carmen is one of the tourist harbors of the island, which is why there are numerous hotels and holiday apartments around the beach. Directly on the beach is a small kiosk, where ice and drinks can be purchased. There is also a restaurant called “Restaurante Bar Playa”, where fish and seafood lovers will feel particularly welcome.

The Playa Chica Beach is very popular due to its varied offer and undoubtedly belongs to the favourite tourist beaches of Lanzarote.

Playa Chica is the perfect place for families with children. The Beach is small, there is less wind and the ocean is relatively quiet.

Playa de Guacimeta Beach

Playa de Guacimeta Beach in Playa Honda, Lanzarote

Playa de Guacimeta Beach or aswell named Playa de Tiburón is a beach directly at the runway for airplanes at the airport of Lanzarote.

You are separated from the airplane by a big fence and by the bikeway and footway that goes along the coastline from Arrecife to Puerto del Carmen.

The Beach is not very wide and not heavily frequented. But, although the location at the airport is not the typical one for a relaxed day, the beach has its advantages.

It is long, the surge of the waves is small and the drift of the ocean is not strong in the summer season.

The yellow sand moreover is very comfortable. Thus, you can the Playa de Guacimeta Beach is a beautiful beach for great pictures.

Dogs are welcome here as well and the coastline invites you for a walk.

When you turn around you can have an impressive view on landing or starting airplanes.

Don’t be shocked about loud planes. You will take great photos.

Famara Beach Lanzarote

Playa de Famara Surf Beach to relax, Lanzarote

Southeast of Teguise you reach via a roundabout to the winding route of the LZ 402 to Famara. With a fantastic view over the coast of Famara, you will be perfectly prepared for your beach day. At the “Playa de Famara” you will find a sandy beach whose rough but beautiful side has also inspired the well-known director Pedro Almodóvar. He filmed some scenes for his film “Broken Embraces” with his crew at the Beach Playa de Famara with Penélope Cruz in one of the starring roles.

Spread your towel on the warm sand beach and be fascinated by the impressive backdrop that is offered to you: In front of you the rough and moving sea and some surfers who try to conquer the waves, next to you the steep cliffs “Risco de Famara” and above you the warming sun that pours the beach into a warm light. The red flag is permanently hoisted at the Famara Beach due to the strong waves and the strong current. You should always bath with special caution and don’t behind the waves into the open sea. Children should only go into the water with a supervisor.

The strong waves, however, attract many surfers to this beach. Beside surfing also kitesurfing is possible at Famara Beach. The conditions at Famara Beach are convenient for professional surfers, intermediate surfers and beginners. If you also want to be a wave rider or at least try it, you can rent the necessary equipment at the local surf shop or book a surf course directly. Obviously, the conditions are changing by wind and tide and the season of the year. With the beginning of the autumn, you will find professional surfers also at the famous spot “La Santa“.

Due to the relatively strong wind at Famara Beach, it is always felt a few degrees Celsius cooler. Hence, Playa de Famara is the right place to relax on hot, humid summer days. On cool and windy days, on the other hand, you should only visit Playa de Famara, if you want to go on a beach walk, wearing a windbreaker.

Please be aware of the ocean drift. Very strong.

Always come back on your feet after each wave. The beach is big fun if you never go behind the line where you touch sand on the ground. Don’t go swimming here. Even if you are a very good swimmer. Just jumping in the waves and enjoy.

Flags are always red here. So please make sure that you don’t swim where you cannot touch ground and make sure you are keeping an eye on your children.

Very important also to check the tide before going. Beach can be 200 m wide or just zero in the back part of the beach.
