Orquesta de Cadaqués in Jameos del agua

The Orquesta de Cadaqués was formed in 1988 from a group of young musicians from Spain and other European countries who had clear objectives as an orchestral formation: to work closely with living contemporary composers, to recover a legacy of Spanish music that had been unfairly forgotten and to promote the careers of emerging soloists, composers and directors.

Ángaro

ÁNGARO, MUSIC AND DANCE IN A UNIQUE PLACE

Angaro is a musical journey through the folklore of the Canarian people and the peoples of the world through music and dance.  A fusion between the classic and the avant-garde in an unrepeatable show at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium.

Pianos, violins, horns… are mixed with powerful drums and other instruments such as seashells and shepherd’s flutes to experiment with dances and voices from ancient times.

A cast of twelve people, including actors and musicians, performs on stage a choral program composed of fifteen songs from diverse backgrounds. Among them there are pieces of their own creation, such as ‘Ángaro’, which gives the show its name; ‘Fujara’, inspired by music of Sufi origin and fused with flamenco influences; ‘San Borondón’, in homage to the magical island whose legend says it appears and disappears into the sea, and other compositions that version popular themes from different islands and are mixed with African instruments and rhythms and other traditional Canarian folklore.

Angaro, a spectacle to live an unforgettable experience in your visit to a unique place in the world, as is Jameos del Agua. Music and dance in a volcanic cave, transformed into an auditorium by the artist César Manrique.

Concert Lanzarote Notebook

In each concert, Lanzarote Notebook – the name under which the Lanzarote musician Nico Hernández hides – proposes a palette of sounds ranging from synthetic and minimalist to bass and sub bass that, together with the images created by Simone Marin, generate an abstract atmosphere of glitcches, rhythms, arrhythmia, noise and silences that transport us, without pause, through a narrative of growing minimalism towards bass and noise. A contemporary audiovisual experience that places these two creators at the forefront of electronic music in the Canary Islands.
