Playa de Papagayo Beach in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

Some of the most famous beaches on Lanzarote are the Papagayo Beaches which are located east of Playa Blanca.

From the eastern end of Playa Blanca, you can walk to the 400 m long Playa de Las Mujeres beach with golden yellow sand.

Another footpath over the cliffs, leads you to the approx. 300 m long Playa del Pozo.

From there in south-east direction, you go across the cliffs, to the famous 200-meter-long Playa de Papagayo, where the El Chiringuito bar is waiting for you with refreshments and various meals above the beach.

Another 300 meters long walk, in east direction over the mountain, takes you to the 400 m long Caleta del Congrio beach, which is also visited by many naturist fans.

Further north-east, there is the Playa de Puerto Muelas beach.

Because of usually low waves, all of the Papagayo beaches are also very suitable for families with children.

The Papagayo beaches can be reached by car over a 5 km long unspoilt, toll-free way (€ 3.- / vehicle) which branches off just after the sewage treatment plant of Playa Blanca.

Keep in mind that there are no shopping facilities, as well as restaurants or bars, or first aid stations, apart from above Playa de Papagayo, which is why you should bring enough drinking water.
